REEL LIFE!

The "Why"?

REEL LIFE!’s purpose is to provide a platform for youth to produce and promote their own media content. Children need cognitive ways to explore possible career paths and express themselves. REEL LIFE! will provide opportunities to explore the many positions necessary for creating media content.

The "How"?

REEL LIFE! creates a base learning view into the technology, literacy and performance arts capabilities of our youth. Some participants will be exposed to new career aspirations and opportunities that can be a driving force to a successful life, while others will be able to hone skills and talents that can really cultivate their dreams.

Specifications

We operate within the “T.E.A” of STEAM
Technology

Teaching the technical skills necessary to produce content. Pre and post-production comprehension like developing content for target audiences, research, journalistic approach, camera work, set design, audio and editing skills.

Engineering

Building towards finished and continuous projects. Both literally and socially constructing and completing ideas for displayable content. Mastery of roles and responsibilities necessary to produce content.

Arts

Utilizing unique skills, attributes, personalities, and positionalities to produce authentic personable and relatable content.

Our Goals

1. Support participants in project based learning and production of their ideas.

2. Provide participants hands-on experience of creating content. Participants will learn how to create and produce ongoing podcasts, newscasts, live shows, talk shows, youtube content, social media pages, promote and organize school and community functions.

3. Partnering programs and schools will be able to promote their communities, support participants during their creative process, and advertise the uniqueness of their neighborhoods.
